Just another day in the life of the G’s

Some days feel like several days packed into one, and today was one of those.

We started off the day with a professional house cleaner coming over at 7a.m.  When she offered to come over to clean, I was a little nervous.  I mean, I’m kind of “Type A” about the way my house should be cleaned, and as much as I wanted to, I just wasn’t sure I could relinquish that over to another woman.  But let me tell you… As I watched her move couches and get in between cushions, and saw that she was individually washing the fake fruit in the giant vase on the kitchen table, I sighed a huge sigh of relief and relaxed. The things that have been going on lately…

It’s been a while, yes, I know.  I think part of me has once again, felt like I don’t have much to talk about, and another part has been completely overwhelmed with all the things that have been going on these past few weeks.  Mostly good, fun things, with a side of bad.

For the past two weeks we have hosted one of Nathaniel’s dearest friends from college, Doug.  Since he was supposed to do a cross-cultural missions trip for seminary, he decided to come from Alabama to So. Cal to help out with our Hispanic Church’s VBS, and the aftermath of it by witnessing to the families who had participated the week before.  The first week he was here, he brought with him several sweet ladies from his church, including his wife and baby, who all participated in helping with our VBS.
