The annual move-a-thon

Oh, you thought we forgot?  No, no, we fully realize that we’ve lived in this house for a year now which means it’s time for our annual move!  That’s right, 4 homes in 4 years and still going strong!

We really don’t mean to be this way, honestly.  It’s not like we decided before we got married to never live anywhere longer than a year and to see how good of friends we have when we enlist them year after year to help us move.  We certainly don’t get some kind of high off of cleaning out a place, then cleaning another place before we move our stuff in, and then living out of boxes for a good few weeks.  It really isn’t like that.

Ghetto Much?

What a day.

It all started when I decided not to shower today.  I should have showered today, it would have made such a difference, I’m sure.  Wait.  No, strike that, I did shower, I just didn’t do all those things after you shower that make you look like you showered.  And yes, cringe, I even wore old sweat pants (not the ones with the stretchy tapered ankle, though – I do have some dignity) and…wait for it….an old stretchy maternity shirt.  And a baseball cap.  I was everything I try so hard not to be.

But given the fact that two seconds before I had to be out the door to take Eddy to school, Jeremiah spit up all over me, I would say my outfit was entirely appropriate...

Sometimes you just gotta let it all out

Am I the only one who gets a knot in my stomach when I think about school starting each year?

We get so used to the relaxing summer schedule – no class schedules to manage, no small children to get out the door on time, and most importantly, no homework at night.   All of those things seem so much more manageable when you also don’t have the potential of a baby waking up at any moment needing to eat RIGHT NOW.  And we all know what kind of a process that can be.

So, almost all last month, I was getting these mild panic attacks whenever I realized that Nathaniel was about to start classes again (bye bye, husband), and Eddy was about to start half day pre-school (hello, driving all over town)...
