It’s those big brown eyes, I tell ya.

It was that mid-morning time of day when it is too early for lunch, but far enough away from breakfast that he was hungry again.  Jeremiah was asking to “eat,” and since I was in the middle of getting things ready for a missions conference we have this weekend, I decided to get one of our trusty easy snacks that we have on hand.

Now, we have fruit snacks – the cheap kind from Target, and then we have fruit snacks - the kind with Cars characters on them.  Apparently there is a stark difference.  Even Nathaniel says so.  But, since Jeremiah was so hungry and we only had one of the pesky generic fruit snacks left to get rid of, I thought maybe I could pull this one off.

A year ago…

For me, Jeremiah’s birthday didn’t really inspire all of these, “oh, it’s only been a year” feelings.  I guess it was obvious to me that this tiny tiny baby would naturally grow into a one year old, who, in so many ways, still seemed like my little baby boy.

But now, at 18 months, we have a full-on toddler boy, complete with skilz and a personality, and the contrast between our 6 month old, and our 18 month old Jeremiah are boggling my mind.  Right now, it is amazing to me how much he has changed in a year:

A year ago, we were coaching him to crawl to that little soccer ball. (and were sooo proud!)  Now we watch him run around the house, climb on the playground, climb to the top of the couches (no, no), and his new favorite thing, turn our dining set with tall chairs into a jungle gym wh...

Blog-O-Therapy

Well, I’d like to tell you I’ve been silent on this blog because we’ve been getting out and doing so much fun stuff that it’s impossible to even sit down to write….but that’s not true.  Actually, I guess it’s kind of true. We have been out to do something fun at least once a week – which feels like a giant leap for mankind.   Your suggestions were very helpful, and I loved your comments that told me, “hey, you’re not alone in this whole mom-ing thing.”  And isn’t that the whole point of blogging as a young mom?  To not feel quite so out of it?

But, to be honest, I just feel totally overwhelmed lately.

Which is weird to me, because if you look at the surface of my life, it seems pretty calm...
