And we thought June was a crazy month

Between Gabriella’s birth, my mom and grandma here for a visit, Gabriella’s baptism, Nathaniel’s trip to speak at an MTW retreat, and Nathaniel’s family in town for a visit, June has been non-stop go, go go.

But June’s got nothing on what July promises to bring.

In 4 days, we will be boarding a plane headed for New York City.  The Big Apple.  ”New York, New York, a city so nice, they named it twice.” (Michael Scott)

Breathe in, breathe out.

I’m completely terrified of this trip.  And it’s not like we are going to some third world country or in the middle of the war, but I feel like this is one of the bravest things I’ve ever done.

Why are we going?  Well, because MTW wants to be sure that we are really totally prepared for cross cultural ministry...

This one will definitely be worth a thousand words

I remember signing up to take the church directory photo and thinking oh, June 8th, surely I’ll have a 2 or 3 week old by then.

My baby turned one week old today.

Our appointment was for 2:00, so we had all day to get ready.  Which is why I was confused that at 1:30 we were still scrambling to get in the car to get there on time.  At least I had managed to feed Gabriella for a good while just before getting in the car.  Anyways, we got our dressed up and optimistic selves to the church.  Even Gabriella had on a special little dress thanks to her Aunt Lois.  I normally don’t have anything but onesies and blankets for the newborn, but she actually looked like a little doll. Jeremiah’s shirt looked good at home, but out in the sunlight I noticed an odd stain on it...

June Bug

Well, even though she was due in May, our little Gabriella Rosalia decided to make her grand entrance into the world on June 1st.  I personally think it’s because she likes pearls (her birthstone), or maybe she just wanted to be the only (living) June birthday on both sides of the family.  But, whatever her reason, we are so SO glad she is here and have LOVED getting to know our beautiful little girl.

As the whole world was aware of, I was starting to get really antsy that I was STILL pregnant.  I really thought she’d at least be born on her due date if not before.  But her due date came and went, then memorial day weekend, and still no baby...
